Report of Saeed’s and Mohammed’s presentation

I will summarise and talk about Saeed’s and Mohammed’s presentation, which was about social networking.  Overall, I really liked the organization of the presentation. To illustrate, they were using  pictures and charts to explain their topic; also the text was clear and organized. To take the attention in Saeed’s representation, he was very confident and relaxed when he was explaining his part of his presentation. Also, I like the way of his representation; he was asking questions to us during the explanation. In my view this was a very good strategy to get our attention and gave us a chance to share information with him.  In addition, he gave us good examples. To clarify, these examples were very useful, because it gave us the ideas in a clear way. Next, I liked his language; he was speaking clearly and fluently. I think everything was correct and nice for Saeed’s representation; also he could answer all the questions clearly. Now let’s turn our attention to Mohammed’s representation. He was very confident in himself when he was representing his part in the presentation. In addition, his explanation was very clear. To illustrate, he was using charts and pictures in his presentation. I think this way is a very good way to explain.  Also, in my view, his English was good but he couldn’t speak very fluently because he was a little nervous, so I didn’t understand the entire message.  Finally, he could answer all the questions clearly. Reflection On The Meeting

In our group I was the minutes taker. I was ready before we started the meeting and wrote down all the important points such as date of meeting, venue, group members, and the agenda.  As we started I wrote the time of meeting and then listened carefully to the members and wrote down the main ideas of the meeting. Also, I was sharing my ideas with the members and tried to find a viable solution of the problem that we have discussed which is global warming. I think it was a useful meeting and I liked the discussion of my group because when we were sharing the ideas we reached the perfect solution. In addition, I liked the way of the discussion in my group. To explain more, all of the members were respectful of the others’ ideas.

The Chairman Mohammed called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM

1-      1-The reasons for the global warming:

Ali said there are two main reasons of the global warming which are humans’ activities and natural reasons. Mohammed and Abdulla agreed with Ali, but the chairman said we will not discuss about the natural reasons because we cannot find a solution for them. Abdulla said one of the human activities is that humans use cars, airplanes, and trains for transportation. And this transportation causes the CO2 in the air which causes the global warming.  

2- The consequences of the global warming

·            The chairman Mohammed said let us turn our attention to the consequences. Ali said “the high temperature leads to the spread of pests and diseases that the insects transmit such as malaria.” Abdulla pointed out that the high temperature causes melting of the massive glaciers that raises the sea level, so it’s very dangerous for people who are living on the islands and near the coast. The chairman Mohammed agreed with the two consequences and he said let us move to the most important part with is the solution.

3-    3-Making the people aware of the global warming

·          Abdulla asked if we can make aware all the people around the world about the danger of the climate change. Ali pointed out that it’s difficult to raise the awareness of all the people because some regions don’t have enough means of communications. The chairman said if we make aware as many people as we can, that would be enough to reduce the dangers of the global warming. Ali said the best way to make aware many people is by T.V or Internet because it’s common between the people. Abdulla and Mohamed agreed with this solution.

4-       4-Using other fuels instead of petrol and diesel.

·         Abdulla suggested using other sources of power that have not bad effects in the environment such as solar power, wind energy and water energy. Mohammed and Ali didn’t agree with Abdulla because it’s not very viable because it’s not practical and the oil is very cheap.

5-      5- Using public transport.

·         The chairman said let’s see another solution that’s workable. Ali suggested using public transportation to reduce the use of the cars. For example, metro, public buses and electric trains.

The chairman Mohamed said that these are good solutions to reduce the pollution which is an effect of global warming, and he said we should list the output of the meeting.

·                  In conclusion we thought that:

1-      Global warming is a very dangerous phenomenon in the world.

2-      Making the people aware is a good idea to make them deal with this phenomenon.

3-      Using other fuels is not a viable solution.

4-      We liked the idea of using public transportation.
